Mortality and clozapine

Much has been written about the link between clozapine and mortality. On a superficial analysis, clozapine is linked to literally thousands of deaths in UK. But this is not the real picture. The data associates deaths, of any cause, with clozapine. When systematic analysis is done, mortality in those taking clozapine is clearly reduced compared to those taking any other antipsychotic. And, in schizophrenia patients, taking antipsychotic reduces mortality compared to not taking medication. Clozapine saves lives.
